Our Mission

RoliePoll exists to give everyone a voice. We believe in the power of authentic public opinion — unfiltered by media organizations, political agendas, or special interests. Our platform is built on the principle that every person's opinion matters and deserves to be heard.

Core Principles

• Authenticity: Every voice should represent a real person with genuine opinions
• Respect: Disagreement is healthy. Disrespect is not. Challenge ideas, not people
• Integrity: Polls only have meaning if they reflect authentic public sentiment
• Responsibility: You are responsible for the content you create and share
• Safety: Everyone deserves to participate without fear of harassment or abuse

What's Allowed

RoliePoll welcomes polls and discussions on virtually any topic, including:

• Politics, government policy, and current events
• Sports, entertainment, and pop culture
• Technology, science, business, and economics
• Local community issues
• Controversial or sensitive topics (when handled respectfully)
• Satire and humor

We believe in minimal content restrictions. Most viewpoints, even unpopular ones, have a place on RoliePoll as long as they don't violate the rules below.

Prohibited Content

Violence and Threats

• Direct threats of violence against individuals or groups
• Content that incites, glorifies, or celebrates violence
• Instructions for carrying out violent acts
• Terrorist content or propaganda

Hate Speech

Content that attacks, demeans, or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or immigration status is not allowed. However, criticism of policies, governments, and ideologies is permitted. You can say "I oppose [policy]" — you cannot say "[group] are subhuman."

Harassment and Bullying

• Targeted harassment of individuals
• Coordinated campaigns against specific users
• Doxxing (revealing private information)
• Sexual harassment
• Creating polls to mock or humiliate specific private individuals

Dangerous Misinformation

False information that could directly cause physical harm, medical misinformation during public health emergencies, false claims about voting procedures designed to suppress participation, and deepfakes presented as real without disclosure are not allowed. Expressing skepticism, discussing conspiracy theories as theories, and satire (when clearly labeled) are allowed.

Other Prohibited Content

• Child sexual abuse material (zero tolerance, reported to authorities)
• Content facilitating human trafficking, illegal drug/weapon sales, or fraud
• Automated posting/voting, spam, phishing, or commercial spam
• Pornographic or sexually explicit content
• Sharing others' private information without consent

Voting Integrity

Each verified user gets exactly one vote per poll. This is non-negotiable.

Prohibited Voting Behavior

• Creating multiple accounts to vote multiple times
• Using bots, automated tools, or purchasing/selling votes
• Organizing groups to manipulate specific polls (brigading)
• Using VPNs/proxies to circumvent geographic restrictions
• GPS spoofing or falsifying location for local polls
• Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities

Consequences are severe: First offense results in a permanent account ban. All associated accounts are banned. Votes are removed from affected polls.

Poll Creation Guidelines

Good Polls:

• Ask clear, understandable questions
• Provide reasonable answer options covering main viewpoints
• Avoid leading or biased question framing
• Are appropriately categorized

Low-Quality Polls (may be removed):

• Incomprehensible or nonsensical questions
• Options that don't make sense as answers
• Exact duplicates of recent polls
• Spam or purely promotional content

Enforcement

Depending on severity and history, we may take the following actions:

• Warning: First minor violation, educational opportunity
• Content Removal: Content that violates guidelines
• Temporary Restriction: Repeated minor violations
• Temporary Suspension: Serious violation, 1-30 days
• Permanent Ban: Severe violations, repeated offenses, vote manipulation
• Legal Referral: Illegal content, credible threats

Appeals Process

If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, submit an appeal through your account settings explaining why the action was incorrect and providing context. Appeals are typically reviewed within 3-7 business days. One appeal per enforcement action.

Getting Help

If you're being harassed: Block the user, report the harassment, document the behavior, and contact safety@roliepoll.com if severe.
