When you create an account through Apple Sign-In, we receive your Apple ID identifier, email address (if you choose to share it, or a private relay email), and display name (if provided).

Profile Information

  • Username and display name
  • Profile biography (up to 160 characters)
  • Profile avatar/photo
  • Website URL and social media handles
  • Location information (country, state, city)
  • Interests and preferences

User Content

  • Polls (questions, options, categories, settings)
  • Votes and poll responses
  • Comments and replies
  • Bookmarks and collections
  • Reports and feedback

Verification Information

  • Phone number (for SMS verification)
  • Location data (for geographic verification)

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, OS version, unique device identifiers, browser type
  • Usage Information: Pages accessed, actions taken, time spent, search queries
  • Location Information: IP-based approximate location, GPS coordinates (with permission)
  • Log Data: Access times, app crashes, system activity

Information from Third Parties

We receive limited information from Apple when you authenticate: unique user identifier, verified email address (or private relay), and name (if shared).

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting, database, CDN, analytics, push notifications, and SMS providers — all contractually obligated to protect your data
  • Legal Requirements: When required by valid legal process, court orders, or to protect safety

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • Profile information is deleted within 30 days
  • Public content (polls, comments) may be retained in anonymized form
  • Votes are disassociated from your identity
  • Log data is retained for 90 days
  • Analytics data is retained for 2 years (aggregated)
  • Some information may be retained for legal compliance

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct: Update or correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete: Delete your account and associated data at any time
  • Opt-Out: Disable push notifications, unsubscribe from emails, disable location services

7. Jurisdiction-Specific Rights

EEA/UK Residents (GDPR): You have additional rights including right to restrict processing, data portability, right to object, and right to withdraw consent. We use Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt-out of sale/sharing. RoliePoll does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

8. Children's Privacy

RoliePoll is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@roliepoll.com.

9. Security

We implement appropriate security measures including:

  • Password-less authentication via Apple Sign-In
