Community Guidelines

Last Updated: February 20, 2026

Welcome to TrueHaven

TrueHaven is built on the belief that everyone deserves a place to express themselves authentically, connect with others, and engage in meaningful conversations. Our Community Guidelines exist to ensure TrueHaven remains a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all users.

These Guidelines apply to all content and behavior on TrueHaven, including posts, comments, messages, Communities, profiles, and any other interactions on our platform.

Violating these Guidelines may result in content removal, account restrictions, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.

Our Principles

Be Authentic

Present yourself honestly. Don't pretend to be someone you're not or mislead others about your identity, qualifications, or intentions.

Be Respectful

Treat others as you would want to be treated. Disagreement is natural; disrespect is not. Engage with ideas, not personal attacks.

Be Responsible

Think before you post. Consider the impact your words and content may have on others. You are accountable for what you share.

Be Safe

Protect yourself and others. Don't share dangerous information or encourage harmful behavior. Report concerning content when you see it.

Be Inclusive

TrueHaven is for everyone. Welcome diverse perspectives and avoid content that excludes or demeans others based on who they are.

Community Guidelines

Individual Communities (Channels) may establish additional rules that are more restrictive than platform-wide Guidelines. Community moderators have authority to enforce their rules.

Community Rules Must:

  • Comply with platform-wide Guidelines
  • Be clearly communicated to members
  • Be enforced fairly and consistently
  • Not be used to target individuals unfairly

Community Moderator Responsibilities

Moderators Must:

  • Enforce TrueHaven's Guidelines
  • Remove violating content promptly
  • Not abuse their position
  • Respond to TrueHaven's requests
  • Report severe violations to TrueHaven

Moderators Must Not:

  • Use their position to harass users
  • Allow content that violates platform Guidelines
  • Discriminate based on protected characteristics
  • Operate Communities for illegal purposes

Community Removal

We may remove Communities that:

  • Systematically violate Guidelines
  • Exist primarily to promote prohibited content
  • Are operated by banned users
  • Pose safety risks to users
  • Are abandoned and attracting violations

Enforcement

How We Enforce

Detection Methods:

  • User reports
  • Automated content scanning (AI moderation)
  • Proactive human review
  • External reports and partnerships
  • Pattern detection systems

Review Process:

  • Reports are reviewed by moderation team
  • Context is considered in all decisions
  • Severity and history determine action
  • Users are notified of actions taken
  • Appeals are available for most actions

Enforcement Actions

In Order of Severity:

  1. Warning - Notification of violation without further action
  2. Content Removal - Specific content is removed
  3. Sensitivity Labeling - Content marked as sensitive
  4. Feature Restriction - Temporary loss of specific features
  5. Temporary Suspension - Account access suspended for set period
  6. Permanent Ban - Account permanently removed

Strike System

How Strikes Work:

  • Violations result in strikes against your account
  • Strike severity depends on violation type
  • Strikes accumulate toward enforcement thresholds
  • Some strikes expire over time
  • Severe violations may bypass strike system

Strike Thresholds:

  • 1-2 Strikes: Warning and education
  • 3 Strikes: Temporary suspension (7 days typical)
  • 5+ Strikes: Permanent ban consideration

Immediate Ban Violations:

  • Child sexual abuse material
  • Terrorism content
  • Credible violence threats
  • Severe harassment campaigns
  • Repeated ban evasion

Factors We Consider

  • Severity of the violation
  • User's history and past violations
  • Intent (accidental vs. deliberate)
  • Harm caused or potential harm
  • Whether behavior is isolated or pattern
  • Impact on victims
  • Context and circumstances
  • Time since last violation

Appeals

Your Right to Appeal

You may appeal most enforcement decisions if you believe:

  • Your content did not violate Guidelines
  • The violation was misidentified
  • The enforcement was too severe
  • Important context was missed

How to Appeal

  1. Access Appeals - Go to Settings > Account Status > Appeals
  2. Select the Action - Choose which action to appeal
  3. Explain Your Case - Provide clear, respectful explanation
  4. Submit - Submit within 30 days of the action
  5. Wait for Review - Appeals are reviewed by different team members

Appeal Review

  • Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator
  • We consider new information you provide
  • Reviews typically complete within 7 days
  • You will be notified of the decision
  • Appeal decisions are generally final

What Makes a Good Appeal

Do:

  • Be respectful and factual
  • Explain relevant context
  • Provide evidence if available
  • Acknowledge if you made a mistake
  • Ask for clarification if unsure of violation

Don't:

  • Be abusive toward reviewers
  • Submit multiple appeals for the same action
  • Provide false information
  • Make threats

When Appeals Are Not Available

  • Violations of laws requiring immediate removal
  • Obvious and severe violations
  • Actions taken at law enforcement request
  • Temporary restrictions (wait for expiration)
